Didsbury is a suburban area of Manchester situated on the north bank of the River Mersey, 4.5 miles south of Manchester city centre. It is bordered by Withington, Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Burnage, Northenden, Heaton Mersey and Cheadle, and by Gatley to the south.

It is very close to junction 5 of Manchester's ring road, the M60 motorway. Manchester Airport, the busiest airport in the UK outside London, is approximately 4 miles away and there are several bus routes into Manchester city centre, The Trafford Centre, Northenden, and other destinations. The vibrant Wilmslow Road in Rusholme is also in close proximity and is the main route for student travel to the city centre. Didsbury Sports Centre can be found on Wilmslow Road and is a part of the Manchester Metropolitan University campus. It has a dedicated fitness suite with classes and facilities for sports such as badminton and tennis.
